Deputy Programme Coordinator

Isaac holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences with specific focus to climate change adaptation and mitigation in agroecosystems, Masters Degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science and a BSc in Fisheries.

He has two decades’ experience in research, policy development and strengthening of institutional environment for fisheries and aquaculture development, environmental and climate change governance. He has several years’ experience in programme management in the area of policy and institutional development, environmental resilience and social inclusion of value chains, viable and equitable commercialization of the agricultural sector through value chain development, having previously worked as a Programme Officer in Agriculture Sector Development Support Program (sponsored by Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) in Kenya.

Currently he is responsible for providing overall technical backstopping to the Project Management Unit (PMU), under the management of the Programme Coordinator (PC), supporting the PC in participatory planning, liaising with the relevant technical focal points of Programme to ensure high quality, efficient and effective execution technical components of Programme activities, supporting the PC in policy dialogue and review, enforcement of regulations, delivery of technical expertise such as training, institutional strengthening and policy advise, quality assurance of technical activities of service providers and teams, scaling up of technological packages and technical audit of the programme among other duties.
