Signing of the Seed Improvement Implementation Framework Statement of Intent, Revised Budget and Work Plan

Today, Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute and Aquaculture Business Development Programme – ABDP signed an implementation framework to boost Mass production, multiplication and distribution of brood stock of Nile Tilapia and African Catfish to hatcheries in target counties in Kenya.

The three KMFRI Research Scientists from Sagana, Kegati and Sang’oro were represented by Dr. Paul Orina, Dr Domitila Kyule and Dr. Kevin Obiero. The centers will act as the productions hubs for this exercise. Further, this partnership will strengthen select 30 hatcheries with the improved brood stock to ensure production and supply of top-quality fingerlings for our fish farmers. 🐟.

The select hatcheries will also receive capacity building on best management practices within their enterprises.
